Caribbean sailing is a unique experience and so we are delighted to be able to offer you this opportunity at the Cayman Islands Sailing Club. Sailing across the warm, calm, safe waters of Grand Cayman's South Sound is the perfect combination for novices and competent sailors alike. February is a great time of year for sailing - the waters are warm, the sun is not too hot and best of all the wind is just perfect for catching a breeze!
The morning will commence with a brief lesson (no prior sailing experience is required) taught by a certified sailing instructor and will be followed by practice time on the water. The session will conclude with some easy racing to put your newly learnt skills into action. We will be using Picos which are fun singlehanded boats with an optional jib for doublehanded sailing. These boats are compact and so great for learning on.
All sailing and safety equipment will be provided and refreshments will be available throughout the morning. There is no shade on the boats and so we recommend all guests bring suntan lotion, a hat and wear light comfortable clothing which you won't mind getting wet!
